I. Minister

MSCC recognizes that every believer is called to be a minister - not as a pastor, a missionary, an elder or a deacon but as a minister, as stated by Jesus in the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20 “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.  And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age”).  Therefore, MSCC will focus on training and equipping its members for the works of ministry (Ephesians 4:11-12 “And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ”).  This goal will be actualized in 2 ways:

A) MSCC will focus on training and equipping every member to be a disciple-maker.  This means learning to proficiently communicate the gospel message as well as investing one’s life to lead others who are in need of spiritual direction.

B) MSCC will focus on encouraging every member to eagerly participate in any opportunity for gospel-works; this includes but is not limited to: mission works (long-term and short-term), serving as VBS teachers, Sunday School teachers, Christian camp counselors, and any other opportunities to make Jesus Christ known to others.

II. Serve

MSCC recognizes that every believer is called to serve their fellow brothers and sisters in Christ as well as the world (Galatians 6:9-10 “And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.  So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith”).  Therefore, MSCC will focus on encouraging its members to serve fellow believers as well as the local community by means of good works.  This goal will be actualized in 2 ways:

A) MSCC will focus on serving the fellow believers through various personal encouragements; i.e. prayers, fellowship, assisting practical needs and etc.

B) MSCC will focus on encouraging the believers to serve the local community through participating in various voluntary works (i.e. serving food to the homeless, donating to charities, supporting children in need through agencies, supporting Christian education institutions and etc.).

III. Christ-Centered

MSCC recognizes that its identity is the “Body of Christ,” set apart for the lord Jesus Christ above all else (1 Peter 2:9 “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light”).  Therefore, its foremost focus and emphasis will be placed on knowing, fellowshipping, growing, living in Jesus Christ.  This goal will be actualized in 4 ways:

A) MSCC will encourage each of its members to focus on his or her own personal relationship with Jesus Christ above all else, through actively engaging in the Word of God (i.e. personal devotion, bible studies, and Sunday Sermon).

B) MSCC will encourage each of its members to focus on his or her own personal relationship with Jesus Christ above all else, through engaging in a vibrant prayer life (i.e. individual prayer life as well as the corporate prayer meetings).

C) MSCC will encourage each of its members to focus on his or her own personal relationship with Jesus Christ above all else, through prioritizing corporate worship on the Lord’s Day (i.e. being present at the corporate worship, coming early to prepare, intently engaging in praise, prayer, sermon, fellowship and all other aspects of corporate worship).

D) MSCC will encourage each of its members to focus on his or her own personal relationship with Jesus Christ above all else, through eagerly participating in the sacraments officiated by the church.  Each member will be encouraged to actively and continually participate in the Communion and Baptismal Services.

IV. ChURCH-BUILDING

MSCC recognizes that every believer is a member of the body of Christ (1Corinthians 12:27 “Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it”) and that every believer is called to build up the body of Christ (Ephesians 4:11-12 “And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ…”). Therefore, every believer will do everything within his or her power to build up the body of Christ.  This goal will be actualized in 3 ways:

A) Every member will speak encouraging yet sincere words to uplift one another.

B) Every member will demonstrate obedience and submission to the leadership.

C) Every member will take responsibility in addressing, rebuking and correcting those who are divisive or openly sinning.
