I. On The Bible

MSCC believes and teaches that the Holy Scripture, which contains 66 books (39 Old Testament books and 27 New Testament books), is the revelation of the triune God Himself, His character, His redemptive plan, His works throughout history, His Church and His impending judgment to come, with the central focus on Jesus Christ and His substitutionary death on the cross.  The Holy Scripture is divinely inspired, infallible and inerrant: inspired - each of its book were written by various human authors by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1:20-21), infallible – it is incapable of making mistakes because it is God-inspired (2 Timothy 3:16), and inerrant – it is absent of any error (Proverbs 30:5).  MSCC believes and teaches that the Holy Scripture is the standard by which all things are judged, it is the only sacred special revelation of God given to mankind, it is timeless (Matthew 5:18; 24:35), it is the foundation of Christian faith (Romans 10:17), it provides sufficient life directions (Joshua 1:8), it frees men from sin (Psalm 119:9), it sanctifies and trains saints (John 17:17) and it is the living authority of the triune God (Hebrews 4:12).

II. ON God

MSCC believes and teaches that there is one true and living God (Deuteronomy 4:35) who is in three persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit (Isaiah 6:8; Matthew 28:19; Luke 1:35; Luke 3:21-22; John 1:1; 1 Corinthians 8:6; ) - with each one being equal in authority, essence, nature, power, and will but different in roles (Luke 1:35; John 1:14; John 10:30; John 15:26; 1 Corinthians 8:6; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Colossians 2:9).

On God the Father

MSCC believes and teaches that God the Father is the first person of the Trinity, who exists with God the Son and God the Holy Spirit without beginning and without end (Psalm 90:2; Psalm 146:10). God the father is the creator of the entire universe and everything in the universe (Genesis 1:1-31). He reigns supremely (Isaiah 40:23) and timelessly (Jeremiah 1:5) in Spirit (John 4:24) and he is omnipotent (Daniel 4:35), omnipresent (Jeremiah 23:24) and omniscient (Psalm 147:5). He is transcendent and infinite (Isaiah 55:8-9), yet at the same time He is a personal God in that He is a faithful (2 Timothy 2:13), loving (1 John 4:8) and good (Psalm 34:8) father to all His children. He sovereignly orders, upholds, preserves and directs all things (Colossians 1:17) according to His own purpose and grace.

On God the Son

MSCC believes and teaches that God the Son, Jesus Christ, is the second person of the Trinity, who exists with God the Father and God the Spirit without beginning and without end (John 1:1, 14; 1 Corinthians 8:6; Colossians 1:17; Revelation 1:8). Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary (Matthew 1:18-23), was crucified (John 19:17-18), died (John 10:30), resurrected (Matthew 28:5-6), ascended to heaven (Acts 1:9) and is exalted forever more at the right hand of God the Father (Acts 7:55; Colossians 3:1). Jesus Christ redeems every sinner who places his or her faith in Him, according to God’s effectual calling (John 6:44), by His substitutionary death on the cross (John 5:24-27). Jesus Christ was completely human and is completely God (John 17:5; Hebrews 4:15). Jesus Christ was, is and will forever be the one and only messiah and redeemer (Acts 4:12; Hebrews 13:8) whom sinners are saved through (Acts 4:12). Jesus Christ will return in power and glory to judge the living and the dead on the Day of the Lord (Luke 21:27).

On God the Holy Spirit

MSCC believes and teaches that God the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, who exists with God the Father and God the Son without beginning and without end (Genesis 1:2; John 10:30; Isaiah 6:8; Matthew 28:19). The Holy Spirit is fully divine, equal with God the father and God the Son (Matthew 28:19; Acts 5:3-4; Hebrews 10:15-17). The Holy Spirit has many roles including: being the coauthor of creation (Genesis 1:2), divine author of the Scripture (2 Peter 1:20-21), causing the incarnation of Jesus Christ (Matthew 1:18), convicting sinners of their sin (John 16:8), brining salvation to sinners through the gospel message (John 3:5-8), enabling believers to live the new life (Romans 8:9), baptizing new believers into the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:13), empowering believers (Acts 1:8), bestowing various gifts to the believers (1 Corinthians 12:4-11), teaching and reminding believers of Jesus’ teachings (John 14:26), guiding believers to all truths (John 16:13), helping in time of weakness (Romans 8:26-27), causing believers to bear good fruits (Galatians 5:22-25) and taking permanent residence in a person upon salvation (Ephesians 1:13).

III. On MAN

MSCC believes and teaches that man is created by God (Genesis 2:7). God had created man good, according to His image, His likeness and without sin (Genesis 1:26). God’s purpose in man is that He (God) be glorified through man (Isaiah 43:7) and for man to enjoy fellowship with Him (1 John 1:3). Yet, due to Adam and Eve’s sin (Genesis 3), Adam and Eve and the entire posterity became irrevocably corrupt in that mankind is no longer capable of doing what is acceptable unto God as well as incurring further corruption through personal sins; this results in God’s divine eternal condemnation (Genesis 3). The mankind has neither the ability nor the capacity to restore the status of sinlessness / holiness (1 Corinthians 2:14) apart from God’s direct divine intervention. This divine intervention is the redemptive work of Jesus Christ on the cross (John 3:36; Ephesians 1:7).

IV. On Salvation

MSCC believes and teaches that salvation is solely by the grace of God (Ephesians 2:8-9), found only in the redemptive work of Jesus Christ on the cross (Acts 4:12). The triune God has sovereignly elected those whom He will save before the foundation of the world (Romans 8:29-30). The Holy Spirit supernaturally regenerates the heart of the individual sinner (John 3:3), through which the sinner is able to respond to the external gospel call in faith (John 16:8-11). By responding to the gospel call in faith (believing in the heart Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior – i.e. His substitutionary death on the cross being the only way to salvation), the sinner is justified by God (Romans 8:33). In justification, Jesus Christ’s righteousness is imputed to sinners whereas sinner’s sin and penalty for sin is imputed to Jesus Christ (Double Imputation); hence, salvation is by faith in Jesus Christ’s atoning death on the cross and by nothing else (Romans 5:1).

V. On Christian Living

MSCC believes and teaches the transformation process in a Christian life, which consists of continual dying of old self (Mortification) and continual growth in Christ likeness (Vivification), immediately upon justification (Ephesians 4:22-24). This process of Sanctification begins at the point of regeneration - which is a momentary act of God bringing a sinner from spiritual death to spiritual life in order for the sinner to respond to the gospel message; yet once a sinner is justified, he or she receives the fullness of the Holy Spirit (2 Corinthians 3:18), which causes the sinner to become increasingly Christ-like through out one’s life. The Holy Spirit is the author of Sanctification process (1 Corinthians 6:11), yet it also consists of the believer’s continual struggle against sin (2 Corinthians 7:1), which continues until the Day of the Lord (1 Thessalonians 5:23). Therefore, upon being justified, every Christian is under the full operation of the Holy Spirit, with the believer’s proactive response to the Holy Spirit’s leading.

VI. On Church

MSCC believes and teaches that the church is the body of Christ (Colossians 2:19) and Jesus Christ is the head (Colossians 1:18). The Church is the only institution Jesus Christ established (Acts 20:28). Every believer is baptized into the Church Universal upon salvation (1 Corinthians 12:13), and thus it is an immediate and natural occurrence for a believer to belong to the Local Church, which is the visible representation of the Universal Church (Matthew 18:17), upon salvation. Every believer is called to be part of (1 Corinthians 12:12), to love (Ephesians 4:16), to build up (1Corinthians 14:26), to serve with different gifts (Ephesians 4:11-12) and to submit to the proper leadership (Acts 2:42) at the local church. Thus, every believer must, with his or her utmost effort love, build, serve and protect the local church (Hebrews 10:24-25).
